We’ve arrived!!

We left Barcelona at 10:50 AM – and being the impatient travelers that we are, we were at the airport at 7:30 and had absolutely no lines to go through either at check-in on Lufthansa or at security -, got to Frankfurt at 1 pm, had a four-hours wait for our next flight and finally arrived in TO at 7:30 pm  local time.

Some quick anecdotes:

– immigration police in Frankfurt gave Alan shit for overstaying in Europe

– when the waiter came to serve us at a bar at the airport in Frankfurt Alan says “para mí, un frankfurt  y una coca-cola”. The waiter stares at him and I say “wrong language dear”.

– we got to fly at a new Air Canada plane that had individual screens for each passenger, where you could select and watch the movies you wanted. I watched almost four movies on the trip! Music & Lyrics, History Boys, Labirinto del Fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth), and watched parts of Happy Feet and Partition. The latter seems to be a really good movie about a hindu that falls in love with a muslim woman in India during the partition of India and Pakistan.  Must rent it.

Our friends Al & Pearl, accompanied by Perry, picked us up at the airpor, fed us and I was in bed by 10 pm. It’s now 7:45 and we’re getting ready for a very busy day. On the agenda: renewing my Brazilian passport, renting an apartment, getting sim cards for our cells, getting our health cards, and lots of little errands…

We’re back to TORONTO! It feels good to be back but Alan is finding the architecture a little hard to get used to. I also had to remind him this morning when he put his shoes on that this is Canada, people don’t wear shoes inside the house. He says I’ll need to retrain him to be Canadian ;)

  2. Hahaha! Você lembrá-lo de não colocar os sapatos foi demais! Sabe que eu acho incrível esse hábito dos canadenses de não usar sapatos em casa? Muito prático para sujar menos!
