This is a test done in the 1930s:

Born and raised in Brazil, a Canadian stole my heart and took me to Canada in 1999. After seven years between Montreal and Toronto, we then moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I did research for my PhD thesis. This blog began as a chronicle of our adventures while living in Barcelona and exploring the old world and has acquired a life of its own after we moved back to Canada.

  1. Maximum score (100% Merits – 0% Demerits) = (25 – 0) = 25 points (classified as poor?)
Conclusion, or I got it completely wrong or Mr Crone should learn a bit of maths.

  2. Hmmm, the math is indeed dodgy because the total amount of points for merit equals 25, not 100… I think you might be right, maybe 25 = 100% and that would be the number of points…

  3. I’m going to have to check that box that says “puts her cold feet on husband at night to warm them”… And I’m amazed that whoever made this test remembered to add the “hose seams” to the list. It kind of looks like there are other pages to this test, that could explain why the total of points doesn’t make much sense as it is.

  4. Re: bad maths
Maybe there was originally another page with more demerits/merits or even a few more pages. Those mentioned about don’t seem to cover all aspects of life/marriage which makes me think there should be more.
