Remember that list of things I wanted/had to do? As you know, exercising was right up there, as one of the main priorities. After all, mens sana in corpore sano, as the philosopher would say, so if I want to be able to write a thesis, I need to be well within my body. So far so good. I’ve been going regularly to gym since we got back from Spain. I got back to my weights routine, some yoga and stretching on my own, and lots of cycling and walking. I even take the stairs to my seventh-floor apartment. But this week I made the bigger jump. This week I started to learn to run. So far all I can do is walk for five mins, run/walk for twenty minutes (I started with walk 1 lap, run 1 lap, and I’m now at walk 1 lap, run 2 laps) and finish with another five minutes walk to cool down. I want to be able to run 5 km by the fall. Running is hard but it also feels very empowering. Wish me luck with it!
