Born and raised in Brazil, a Canadian stole my heart and took me to Canada in 1999. After seven years between Montreal and Toronto, we then moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I did research for my PhD thesis. This blog began as a chronicle of our adventures while living in Barcelona and exploring the old world and has acquired a life of its own after we moved back to Canada.

  1. Girona: What an amazing city! Que cidade mais maravilhosa! Quina ciutat més meravellosa! M’encanta la foto!

Avui volo de NYC a Barcelona. Eu também gosto muito destas dois cidades.

  2. I’ll never forget the first time I went to Girona or Barcelona.

In Barcelona, I spent the first few days in a state of awe. This wasn’t just another European city with its particular mix of old and new. It is truly a surreal city. The buildings simply didn’t seem real and I’m not talking of Gaudi buildings – I’m talking of other Eixample buildings that are not part of a turist route.

Girona is also gorgeous but in a different way. It has the best preserved medieval city centre in Europe and every time we turned the corner, we would gasp at the beauty of it all. It was also nice to immerse in the Catalan for a couple of days. It was also the place where Alan fell in love with galtes. I need to go back.

    D’on ets, Miq?

  3. Que linda essa foto. Ficou perfeita! Parece um cartao-postal. :)
